Introduction
Welcome to FlareSale POS. This Privacy Policy explains how FlareSale ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application and cloud services (collectively, the "Service").
We understand that privacy is fundamental. We are committed to being transparent about how we handle your data, and we've written this policy in plain language — no confusing legalese. Please read it carefully before using FlareSale.
By accessing or using the Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at support@flaresale.com before using the Service.
Data We Collect
We collect information in the following ways to provide and improve the FlareSale Service:
A. Personal Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you register using Google Sign-In or email/password, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture (if provided via Google).
- Business Data: Store name, inventory details, sales records, customer receipts, and employee roles that you enter directly into the app.
- Payment & Billing: If you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details are processed securely by our payment provider — we never store full card numbers.
B. Automatically Collected Data
- Device Information: Hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information — used to enforce device limits per subscription plan.
- Usage Data: Features used, session duration, and navigation patterns to help us improve usability.
- Crash & Diagnostic Reports: Error logs and stability data collected via Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs and maintain reliability.
C. Device Permissions We Request
To provide specific features, FlareSale POS may request the following device permissions:
- Camera: To scan barcodes or QR codes for inventory management and product lookup.
- Bluetooth & Nearby Devices: To discover and connect to external hardware, such as Bluetooth thermal receipt printers.
- Storage: To securely store offline POS data (products, cart sessions, and sales) locally on your device before syncing to the cloud.
You can manage these permissions at any time through your device's Settings app. Denying a permission will disable the related feature but will not affect core POS functionality.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the FlareSale Service. Specifically, we use your data to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the FlareSale POS application and cloud sync services.
- Authenticate your identity and manage your user account securely.
- Sync local offline data to our cloud servers so you can access it across multiple devices and locations.
- Enforce account limitations such as device count restrictions for different subscription tiers.
- Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests.
- Monitor usage trends and analyze app performance to improve the user experience.
- Generate anonymized, aggregated analytics to understand how features are used.
- Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the security of our platform.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your business data for advertising. Your sales records, inventory, and customer information belong to you.
Data Security & Cloud Storage
We take the security of your data seriously and implement multiple layers of protection:
- Offline-First Architecture: Your business data is stored locally on your device, enabling the app to function without an internet connection and reducing exposure to network-level risks.
- Encrypted Sync: When an internet connection is available, data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption before being synced to our secure Firebase Cloud Firestore database.
- Firebase Security Rules: Database access is strictly controlled using Firebase Security Rules — only authenticated users can read or write their own data.
- Authentication: We use Firebase Authentication with Google Sign-In, which leverages Google's robust identity infrastructure.
While we implement reasonable security measures, please be aware that no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your device secure.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and to comply with our legal obligations.
- Active Account Data: Retained for as long as your account is active and you continue using the Service.
- Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be flagged for deletion. We will notify you by email before any deletion occurs.
- Crash & Diagnostic Logs: Retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
How to Delete Your Account
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by:
- Using the Delete Account option in the app's Settings menu.
- Emailing us at support@flaresale.com with your request.
Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (such as usage statistics with no personally identifying information) may be retained for analytical purposes.
